Early scans
Early Scan - 6 to 12 weeks

Early pregnancy scans are an invaluable way to find out whether your pregnancy is progressing as it should be. Whether you have had a bad experience previously or would just like reassurance that all is well. The wait for the first NHS scan can feel like an eternity. Seeing the baby’s heartbeat on scan for the first time is a very special moment.

1 hour appointment - £188
We recommend this package for women who have had a previous miscarriage. The first scan is booked for around 7 weeks and the second at around 9 or 10 weeks, to help support you through the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The timings can be tailored to suit you, your preferred mode of scanning and how you are feeling.

NIPT Test
30 minute/1 hour appointment - £419/£459 with scan
The NIPT test is a blood test that looks for whether your baby has Down's Syndrome, Edward's or Patau's Syndrome. In these conditions there are 3 copies of certain chromosomes instead of 2 (“Trisomy”). The test looks at DNA from the baby that is present in the mothers bloodstream.

30 minute appointment - £89
This scan is to look for the baby’s heartbeat and movements. We will aim to get some lovely images of your baby for you to take home. Please note that this is not an anomaly scan (anatomy check) and does not include detailed views of the heart and other organs.

Fetal growth or wellbeing scans can be performed at any stage from 24 weeks of pregnancy. A growing baby is a healthy baby so growth scans are sometimes done in a series.

30 minute appointment - £119 or £149 with growth scan
This is a scan to check your baby's wellbeing using measurement of amniotic fluid and doppler. We will also use 4D to obtain amazingly real images of your baby. If you select the growth scan option, we will also check your baby is growing well by measuring its tummy and head.

30 minute appointment - £109
This scan is to check which way around the baby is at the end of your pregnancy. Most babies are head down (cephalic) but some are bottom down (breech). Vaginal birth may be riskier for breech babies. Usually they are picked up by your midwife feeling your tummy but some get missed using this method so a scan is a more accurate check.

Pelvic Ultrasound Scan
30 minute appointment - £145
This scan looks at your womb and ovaries. It looks for ovarian cysts, fibroids and polyps or thickening of the womb lining (endometrium). It helps your doctor to make a diagnosis if you have period problems, pelvic pain, miscarriages, or a delay to conceive. It will also tell you whether a coil is correctly sited in the womb.

This is often requested by women undergoing IVF abroad. We will provide a report to be sent on to your fertility team.

30 minute appointment - £145
If you are having IVF abroad or in a clinic far away and it’s not easy to travel to them for your baseline scan we can perform this scan for you. We will issue a report detailing your endometrial thickness, the appearance of the womb and ovaries, to be sent on to your fertility team so that they can confirm you are ready to commence treatment.

30 minute appointment - £145
If you are having IVF abroad or in a clinic far away and it’s not easy to travel to them for one of your scans we can perform this scan for you. We will issue a report detailing the measurements of the largest follicles, to be sent on to your fertility team.

Images and reports
We will provide a full written report for all of our ultrasound scans and copies of the images. We can give these to you in the form of black and white prints and share these with you electronically through our medical notes software portal. We also have available to purchase USB drives (£12) containing the information and images in electronic format (jpeg &PDF).
How to pay
When you book a deposit of 30% is taken to secure your appointment. The remainder of the fee will be payable at your appointment by debit or credit card (excluding AMEX). We do not accept cheques or cash. Please note that we cannot proceed with your appointment without full payment at the time of your scan
Cancellation policy
If you cancel with more than 7 days notice you can contact us to ask for a refund of your deposit. If you cancel with more than 24 hours but less than 7 days notice only the deposit will be retained. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment the full appointment fee will be charged. If you have to cancel for a medical reason such as miscarriage or Covid19 symptoms your deposit will be refunded
Rescan policy
For pregnancy scans if we cannot fulfil the purpose of the scan on the day due to the baby being in an unfavourable position a complimentary rescan appointment will be offered
Unexpected findings
If we find something unexpected such as a non viable early pregnancy or an abnormaility on scan, we will talk to you about it in a sensitive and compassionate way, and seek your consent to share this information with your NHS team
For a non viable pregnancy this would be your local early pregancy unit. For an abnormaility on scan this would be your midwife or obstetrician. For a finding in one of our womens health scans we can liaise with your GP or recommend and refer you to a local specialist in the private sector. Information about you will not be shared with anyone outside our team without your consent
Chaperones
At present all of our sonographers are female. If you would like a chaperone to be present at your scan then please let us know in the booking notes, or telephone us beforehand
Interpreting service
Please let us know if you need to use our telephone interpreting service at your appointment, so that we can allow a little more time on the day.
Adaptations
Our clinics are wheelchair accessible. We collect you in person from the waiting area. Please let us know if you require any other adaptations in order for us to help you
Private health insurance
We are all registered with either the General Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, or the Health & Care Professions Council. A receipt and report will be provided to allow you to claim back your payment from your insurer. Please check your cover prior to booking.
