Welcome to Somerset Early Scans
We are an experienced team of Doctors, Nurse Practitioners & Advanced Practitioner Sonographers, all with qualifications in Ultrasound.
We are passionate about supporting women in early pregnancy and since opening in 2014 we have seen thousands of clients and had wonderful feedback about our care. Our Bridgwater clinic is easily accessible from the M5, serving Taunton, Yeovil and Weston-Super-Mare. Our Bath clinic is situated in Paulton to serve Bath, Bristol, Frome, Chippenham and Warminster.
We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Medical Council. As well as ultrasound scans we offer Harmony non invasive prenatal testing. This is a highly accurate test for Down’s syndrome. See Harmony page for further details
We are all clinicians which means we will talk you through your scan as it progresses and answer your questions, make a diagnosis and explain the findings. No worrying silences or waiting whilst we find someone more senior! We offer longer appointments than other clinics and a very high standard of care.
Covid-19 update 5th January 2021:
We are open for all of our services apart from 4D scans, but with strict Covid precautions in place.
You should not attend for a scan purely for gender determination during lockdown. If the scan is booked for a healthcare reason, the gender can be examined as a secondary purpose of the scan.
1 partner or adult from your support bubble may accompany you to your appointment. Children are not permitted.
Facemasks are mandatory, you can bring your own or we have masks available to purchase on arrival.
To keep others safe, you may not visit the clinic if you have a new cough or fever, loss of smell or taste within the last 10 days, or if a member of your household has had these symptoms in the last 14 days. Please wash your hands for 20 seconds before and after your scan and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. We will close immediately for deep cleaning if a patient with possible Covid19 enters the clinic room.
You will be contacted by telephone within 24 hours of your appointment to confirm your Covid status, and we will provide instructions with regards to waiting in your car or outside until we telephone you to come in. If we are unable to contact you you will be screened at the door prior to entry.
To keep you safe, unless a they have had a negative covid swab result staff will not come to work with any new symptoms of a cough or fever in the last 10 days. Nor will they come in if a member of their household has had a new cough or fever in the last 14 days, and has not had a negative covid swab. They will be wearing masks, eye protection and gloves when they see you. All surfaces including door handles will be disinfected in between patients and hands washed thoroughly before and after each client.
Our fees have been increased for new bookings from 11th March 2021. The correct fee will show on the online booking form when you make your booking. Existing bookings made at the previous prices will not be charged extra. We have increased our fees to cover Covid19 related costs such as PPE, increased staffing time for cleaning and telephoning clients.
