Package of 2 scans £149

We recommend this package for women who have had a previous miscarriage. The first scan is booked for around 7 weeks and the second at around 9 or 10 weeks, to help support you through the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The timings can be tailored to suit you, your preferred mode of scanning and how you are feeling.

How it works: book your first scan & pay the deposit for the package now to benefit from this offer. You can telephone us to book your second appointment or book it with us when you come for your first scan.

An early scan can confirm that the pregnancy is in the right place and not ectopic, date the pregnancy, look for twins and of course check the viability. The best time for the earliest scan is 7 weeks from the first day of your last period. We can scan before than this if you prefer, to confirm things are developing as they should with a small chance of not seeing the heartbeat yet.

Before 8 weeks an internal scan will usually be needed to make a diagnosis as the baby is very small. This dosn’t harm the pregnancy at all and is not painful. You need an empty bladder for an internal scan.

The second scan will show us that the baby has grown, and we can often see the arms and legs, head, body and little movements which are lovely to see.

It is often possible at your second scan to get good images using the abdominal (tummy) probe, providing you bladder is full. Please drink 1-1.5l of fluids at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. As long as you don’t have a lot of sickness! If you are suffering we understand you may not be able to manage drinking this much.

Please note that the purpose of our early scans is to diagnose viability. Structural abnormalities are difficult to spot at this early stage and best looked for at the 20 week anomaly scan.
